Galway and the Great War

‘Galway and the Great War’ exhibition opened at Galway City Museum in 2014. A concertina structure on two long walls features a number of large portraits and individual stories of people from Galway whose lives were affected by World War I. A deeply personal exhibition, it tells the stories of individuals who had served at the front and those who were left behind.
The overall graphic approach results in a sombre and respectful mood, with the sparse use of bright accent colours throughout. Clean, structured typography conveys the stories in a clear, crisp manner. The single interactive touchscreen allows visitors to delve into further stories, letters, posters and artefacts.
